A final note this year…

December 29, 2014

First things first, I had a nice Christmas, got a lovely new watch from my family (Fossil) and enough toiletries to see me into the New Year, and of course some really nice gifts all around (including a Japanese notebook and colouring pencils from my brother). There was one gift from a friend that really blew me away and actually tugged my heart strings a little (please bear with me as I’m not great at the soppy stuff). This was a personalised book with six of my stories, three of which are currently in the work-in-progress stage, complete with a foreword and an epilogue with encouraging messages. Without a doubt it was an awesome surprise and really has inspired me to really get cracking on with my stories.

So with the art side of things this year, it’s mostly been helping friends with their projects, with my own taking a side route; though I’m currently in the middle of creating a map for Valley of Humanity and trying to put aside time for doing some character designs for the creatures that inhabit the world; and of course some unrelated character designs for various other projects of my own. It’s all a bit messy and I’m starting to think that by just sketching and getting on with it without fear or worrying about mistakes. I think that’s when things will start to get a bit clearer.

It’s been a moderately productive year I would say, I really want to double my efforts next year and start getting my art and writing up to a better level so I can start utilising it for my future.

Well, I guess I’ll see you all next year!
